Black and white or colour was the choice people were faced with a couple of decades ago. Size didn't matter much, picture quality didn't touch it, and price? Oh boy! What do you get when you walk into a shop these days? You get everything from LCD to Plasma, High definition to Rear projection to even CRTs -- and to make your life even harder -- widescreen (16:9) to standard (4:3). The choices are overwhelming.

In this display of choices, how will you ever get past buying a TV? At least know what to look for? Even have the simplest idea of what looks better these days? According to Jeff Cove, VP of Strategic Alliances at Panasonic, you should start by asking yourself everything from how you want to view it, where you want to view it from to what you want to view.

That seems to make sense, after all, it's your choice, money and TV. It's going to stay in your house, not the salesman's. But how will you ever know how this LCD is different from Plasma or this High Definition is different from Enhanced Definition? Listen to this interview, and at the end you'll be saying 'I want a high definition TV, 720 lines progressively, and 43 inches wide. Perfect for my living room.'
