As President and "Chief Lizard Wrangler" at the Mozilla Foundation, Mitchell Baker is an authority on the Mozilla foundation. Here she shares her experiences regarding the development and evolution of the Mozilla organization as well as the launch of what most regard as the most successful open source product in the market today.

With 100 million downloads, the Firefox browser is one of the best examples of an open source success. But it didn't come easily. The road from being a commercial product inside a large corporation to where it is today was a long and difficult one that didn't have the benefit of past examples.

What combination of management and technology was necessary to make this happen? What were some of the major challenges?

Mozilla has also recently formed a for-profit arm. What does that mean for the future of Firefox and the other Mozilla projects?

Mitchell Baker stands at the intersection of open source and the real world on both the corporate and the user side, as such her insights are bits of the highest order.

Finally she talks about the development plans Mozilla has for the Firefox of the future.
