Joe Kraus co-founded Digitalconsumer.org, a grassroots consumer and political organization with more than 49,000 members dedicated to protecting consumer’s fair-use rights to digital media and to safeguarding the ability of technology companies to innovate freely.
Upon graduation from Stanford University in 1993, Joe joined with five engineering friends to found the successful Internet company, Excite. The original president of Excite, Inc., Kraus was deeply involved in product strategy, direction and vision as the company grew. He also held senior operational roles in business development, international development, marketing and content. Kraus left Excite (then Excite@Home) in April, 2000.
